Our Company - History
Our history begins as Formula D roofing in Paterson NJ in 1985.
Darren Mainardi expanded out of the family business to start his own roofing company.
Darren moved to Florida from NJ to work on a development project that was being undertaken by the family business.
While in Florida, Darren expanded the business and partnered up with a local builder to form DarMain homes, which specialized in roofing.
After various hurricanes struck the Florida region, the business flourished and grew rapidly. It was here in Florida where Darren was first introduced to ELK Roofing Products. He quickly recognized the better quality of ELK products, and became an avid installer for ELK.
Once again the family called upon Darren to help out on another business in California that was growing. Darren moved out to California with his new bride and began working in there where he learned clay tile and promoted the ELK product as well.
Finally, as Darren’s family grew, the desire to be closer to family had Darren pack up his new family, leave all that he had built, and come back to NJ.
Upon re-establishment in NJ, Darren took the leap of faith and began Sebastian Builders, named after his first-born son. Since then, his family and the company have both grown.
Sebastian Builders is founded on three principles: provide high quality work, value our customers, and possess integrity that can’t be beat.
Sebastian Builders will remain in existence for many years to come based on strong morals and value alone.
